March 18th, 2025
Accurate quantification of Per and polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) is critical to reduce public exposure and to improve water quality. AccuStandard has designed and prepared a new CRM including all 29 target compounds listed in the European Committee for Standardization's published method EN 17892 to help meet the regulation requirements for PFAS in Drinking Water samples in the EU region.
The European Committee for Standardization has published EN 17892 for the determination of Per and polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) in Drinking Water samples to help meet the regulations of PFAS in the EU region.
PFAS are a group of man-made chemicals that are used as firefighting agents in addition to their application in a wide range of consumer products such as cookware, textiles, cosmetics and others. Known as the “Forever Chemicals”, exposure to certain PFAS compounds can result in adverse health effects such as liver damage, cancer and other developmental effects.
Due to their persistence in the environment, PFAS can contaminate drinking water sources which present a major concern to public safety. As a result, and to reduce exposure to these ubiquitous contaminates, EN 17892 has been developed to help identify 29 PFAS compounds 20 of which are the target PFAS contaminates listed in the EU Directive 2020/2184.
To help you and your lab overcome the challenges of PFAS analysis, AccuStandard has designed and prepared a new CRM that include all 29 target compounds listed in EN 17892. This CRM is now available to allow your lab achieve efficient and reliable identification of PFAS in Drinking Water in accordance with this test method.
